Yas Water World

We spend a whole day in Yas water world and it was awesome.

It’s a water park with lot of water slides, some are fun and relaxing and some are adventurous.

You can choose what you like.

There is also a section for smaller children, wave pool, free fall and a rollercoaster.

Floors are very hot and it’s very hard to walk barefoot, but by every pool you have a shoe storage cabinet so you can leave your flip flops there and take them when you go somewhere else.

My only complaint is that you have to pay extra for the safety lockers and they are not cheap.

They should be in the price of the ticket or much cheaper.

Some of the slides and attractions we tried:

  1.      Amwaj Wave Pool – Wave pool is awesome!

There is a display with the time when the waves are gonna start so you take a float and go as close to the wall and wait .

Waves are small and relaxing, when they start you just let go and enjoy.

     2.     Al Raha River

This is a relaxing tube ride and I liked it very much. Like floating through the river.

     3.     Yadi Yas

It’s like the Al Raha River but calmer

  1.      Bandit Bomber

This is a rollercoaster and there should be splashing water effects but when we were riding there wasn’t any.

We tried lots of roller coasters so this one was meh. Maybe it would be better with effects.

  1.      Falcons Falaj

It’s a six seater float with twist and turns, drops and excitement . You just have to hold on tight for the float. Fun!

  1.      Hamlools Humps

You fly down Hamlool’s Humps, it’s very high and a little scary but adrenaline 100%

By this waterslide is also a Jebel Drop which is the park’s steepest waterslide and a little too much for me so I didn’t try it.

  1.      Sebag

This is a slide with six lanes, not so scary like Hamlools Humps and Jebel Drop.

This all rides are on the same place so when you go up you can decide which one you would like to try. It looks a lot scarier from up there.

  1.      Slithers Slides

This one we used most times. There are 6 different slides – snakes , you came down through the snakes head.

That was good training because for all the slides you need to go up the stairs, many stairs.

  1.      Liwa Loop

Ooooo the Liwa loop. This was something my husband really wanted to try so we went. I’m not really for that kind of things because of my fear of heights.

But I wanted to try it.

It’s a free fall waterslide!!

You drop straight down into a high-intensity looping waterslide.

I never felt so much adrenaline and never screamed so much.

Few seconds I had to hold my breath because the water was going into my mouth and nose, but it is over very fast.

I’m not sure if I would do it again but it was once in a lifetime experience.

My husband wanted to go again J

There are few dining places there, ice cream shop and also a souvenir shop.

There are also photographers making photos on lots of slides and you can buy them later.

But we had our waterproof camera and I could take photos on my one.

They even let my husband with the camera into Liwa Loop , filming his drop .

Yas water world was great fun for us and  I we would recommend it to everybody and come again if  I could  🙂

Yas Beach Abu Dhabi

Yas Beach is located on sands of Yas Island. It’s a private Beach and you have to pay an entrance fee to enter, but if you stay in Radisson Blue hotel (or other Yas hotel) you get the ticket for free from the concierge.

There is a infinity pool  and kids pool, snack shop, towels for rent, pizza shop, beach lounge and the Yas beach store .

You can rent a Cabana if you want (too expensive for me) or use loungers for free.

It’s a sandy beach and probably nice if you are there in some other time and not in summer.

We were in Abu Dhabi in august and you can imagine how it is when the temperature is over 40 degrees.

We got on the beach around 10 AM and were the only one there, Yas beach just for us.

It was hot as hell and the water was very warm.

We looked around, dipped into water for a while and had the water on ice wich the waiter brings you to the beach (you can order other drinks an also alkohol).

After 11AM people start getting to the beach.

You have to take the bus to the beach or taxi – Yas Express bus is free and Radisson blue hotel has a complimentary bus that gets you to the beach for free also.

We were on the beach until 12 AM  and decided to go because it was to hot.

It’s nice , but I saw a nicer beaches. If you have a ticket definitely go to the beach but if you have to pay for entrance I’m not sure is worth.

Our next stop is Yas Mall.

Finally in Abu Dhabi

We went from Zagreb , had a layower in Belgrade and then Abu Dhabi.

It was around 9 PM when we got to Abu Dhabi. We have passed customs control, they scanned our eyeballs and we went to get our luggage .

When the exit doors opened I thought I would die. We were hit by the heat, I never felt so hot.

My T-shirt was wet in a minute. It was like 39 degrees.

I expected the heat but this is something else, lot of humidity and high temperature.

Very unusual. We have in summer 35-38 but it doesn’t felt like that.

And it was night, during the day the temperatures went to 47-48 degrees.

The girl from Big Bus told us that in July they had 56 degrees. OMG, I can’t even imagine.

We wanted to take the bus to get to our hotel, we were situated on Yas Island, but there was no bus going there. And I have checked that on the internet and there should be a bus, but there wasn’t.

I learned that most information in internet about transport in Abu Dhabi is not really correct.

When we were looking for a bus, we found the machine that sells Hafilat card.

Hafilat – which means ‘buses’ in Arabic – is a pre-paid card that allows you to travel on public buses.

Temporary cards cost AED 5 and have a validity of 14 days.

These cards are issued at the main bus stations, a few shopping malls and the airport.

This is the best card for tourists.

We wanted to buy a card but the machine didn’t want to take our paper money – something was wrong with it.

Then a man approached us and asked if we need help. He bought us the card with coins and we gave him paper money. He was very nice and helpful.

Then we started to look for the bus and couldn’t find it. The second man came to us and asked us if we need help and he called the station and asked about the bus to Yas Island and it happened that there is no bus going from Airport to Yas.

I’m not sure if that it because we were out of the season there. I did find on the Internet that there is a bus, but there wasn’t.

We had to take a Taxi. He took us to our hotel and we checked in. Radisson Blue Yas Island.

In my next post I will write a little about the hotel.

It was late so we just took a walk around the hotel and then went to our room to take a much needed shower and sleep.
